AICD Implantation

AICD (or Automatic Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator) is one of the procedures that relieve patients suffering from arrhythmias. It's another electronic device that diagnoses and treats arrhythmia in the best possible manner.

AICD uses either cardio version or defibrillation to treat arrhythmias. Cardioversion is nothing but high-speed pacing that stops the abnormal rhythm. However, in extreme cases, defibrillation is used that reset the heart rhythm.

During AICD, the doctor will inject sedation to ease the body. The procedure takes place with the help of an X-Ray and ECG machine that captures the images. The doctor will make an incision point to insert AICD. The lead wire connected to AICD will pass from the vein to the heart.
