Coronary Angioplasty

Coronary angioplasty is a method through which a doctor widens the blocked arteries of the heart. All this takes place with the help of a balloon that helps stretch open blocked or narrowed arteries.

However, modern angioplasty is done with the help of a mesh wire tube called a stent. These stents are just kept so that the proper flow of blood takes place throughout the course. The entire coronary angioplasty along with stent is known as percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI).

Our doctors perform coronary angioplasty to treat symptoms associated with angina or a heart attack. Most of the time, it's proven that coronary angioplasty improves blood flow significantly. With the help of a balloon connected with a catheter tube, the doctors inflate it to make sure that clogged arteries are open.
